Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
IPL stands for intense pulsed light, which is a type of non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses pulses of light to improve the appearance of the skin.
During an IPL treatment, a device is used to deliver pulses of light to the skin. The light is absorbed by the melanin and hemoglobin in the skin, which can help to reduce the appearance of dark spots, sun damage, and other discoloration.
IPL can also help to stimulate collagen production and improve the texture and tone of the skin. It can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, and rosacea. IPL treatments can also be used to treat active acne.
Skin Resurfacing
At Flourish Surgical Arts in Denver, Colorado, we have multiple modalities to resurface the skin depending on the amount and type of skin damage, and the desired downtime.
Chemical peeling is a time-tested procedure that when performed by an expert can produce significant improvement in the skin. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and can develop dyschromia (uneven coloration). Peels can be used to correct these problems. Chemical peeling can be done at different levels to achieve the desired effects. Superficial peels, often offered at beauty salons may be able to remove the outermost layer of skin giving you a “glow” for a few weeks, but deeper peeling is needed to make significant changes to the skin.
Erbium YAG Laser skin resurfacing is a type of laser skin resurfacing procedure that uses a specialized laser to remove the outer layers of the skin, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin cells. The procedure is used to address a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, acne scars, and uneven skin tone and texture. It is often performed on an outpatient basis and can be customized to meet the individual needs and goals of each patient. It is typically performed under local anesthesia or sedation, and the procedure itself can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the size and location of the treatment area.
Fractionated CO2 lasers are a type of skin resurfacing treatment that uses a beam of light to target only a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving healthy tissue intact to promote faster healing. This type of laser is more aggressive and is typically used to address deeper wrinkles, acne scars, and other more significant skin concerns. Unlike fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing, which removes the entire outer layer of skin, fractional CO2 laser resurfacing creates tiny micro-columns of thermal injury in the skin, while leaving surrounding tissue untouched.
This fractionated approach helps to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, promoting the growth of new collagen and elastin fibers to replace damaged tissue. The result is smoother, more youthful-looking skin with improved texture and tone.
Microneedling
At Flourish Surgical Arts, we offer SkinPen and Radio-Frequency (RF) Microneedling. Microneedling is a technique that utilizes tiny, adjustable needles to cause micro-trauma in the dermis (deep layer of skin) to stimulate collagen formation. Increased collagen formation leads to improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, and even acne scars.
At Flourish Surgical Arts, we only utilize the FDA-approved Skinpen™. This treatment can be combined with the use of growth factors such as PRP (platelet rich plasma) to help further increase positive changes in the skin. When done in combination this treatment is called a “Vampire Facial.” This safe and relatively non-invasive treatment can be accomplished with topical anesthesia and has minimal downtime.
Radiofrequency microneedling is a similar treatment but delivers a burst of energy underneath the skin to heat the underlying tissues further stimulating tissue contraction and collagen formation. This procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia. Contact us today and let Dr. Nesiba help you improve the quality of your skin with a microneedling treatment in Denver Colorado.
